June 25th.
Washington D.C. Union station.
Got on the greyhound heading to South Bend.
The ride was 19 hours long.
The bus stops every 2 or 3 hours, which is a good thing, and a bad thing.
You get to stretch your legs and go to the bathroom. But on the other hand, you can’t get a long continuous sleep because you have to get out of the bus at some stops.
My sister lives here with her family, and I stayed for about 2 weeks.
It’s been 4 years since the last time I visited South Bend.
There was a new family member in the house.
A sort of a jam session at an Irish restaurant.
My brother in law got me this!
Now I can keep track of how much I walk!
During my stay here, I ask several people about places to visit, and these were the most popular suggestions.
・Yellowstone
・Oregon
・Denver
・Santa Fe
・New Orleans
・St. Louis
・Seattle
I’d like to visit as many of these places as possible.
I’ll see what I can do.
Fireworks for the 4th of July.
It was a private party at a Sports club.
Despite being a private party, the fireworks lasted a good 15 min or so. We were looking from maybe the best spot, and the best part about it was that it wasn’t so crowded.
In Japan, this is an impossible thing to happen at a firework festival.
My original plan was to plan my U.S. trip using the 2 weeks I was staying here.
But I decided to spend as much time as possible with the family. I’m glad I did this, but at the same time, I have almost no plan.
